Hello, I’m Jamila.
I create sculptural florals and layered, luminous landscapes designed to bring a sense of calm, beauty, and quiet completion to your home.
If you’ve ever felt that a space is almost right—but something is missing—this is where it resolves. Each painting is created with intention: textured oils, considered and nuanced colour, and a softness that settles into a room rather than asking for attention. These are works made to live with you. Over time, they become part of your story—personal, grounding, and quietly extraordinary. Many of my collectors tell me they continue to discover something new: a subtle shift in colour, a line they hadn’t noticed, a detail that reveals itself slowly.

While my signature pieces are large, heirloom-scale paintings, I also create smaller, more intimate works. My botanical studies—printed from original oil and charcoal explorations—are available in two sizes, designed to be thoughtfully framed and placed in the quieter corners of your home.
I also offer a collection of luxurious silk scarves. I believe that beauty is not to be reserved for a special occasion—it is something to be lived with, and shared, every day. Each 90cm piece is created from my original paintings, carrying the visible texture, layered colour, and quiet energy of the work—soft blues, deep winter greens, dusty pinks, and buttered yellows. Designed for the discerning woman, they bring a sense of artistry to even the simplest moments.

“It a mystery why some paintings capture my heart and soul but there’s no denying it happens.
“Some of it is colours and some of it is feeling. I spotted two Jamila Hume paintings on Satch & Co’s Instagram. I was in love. Happenstance saw me travel through Holbrook soon after – a chilly morning was warmed by an ever so quick coffee stop. It was hard to get back on the road – I’d taken the chance to dash across the road to see for myself those hanging glories in the gallery’s front windows. My love grew.
“In the charming Satch & Co. gallery window two deep blue and emotive paintings hung either side of the doorway – richest deepest dark blue with bewitching floral shapes. One joyful, one soulful. To me they were mesmerising. A few phone calls and a few weeks later the first arrived in a truck right to my door some 4 and 1/2 hours away. By then it was COVID. I was living and working alone and the painting’s arrival was uplifting for my spirits. Immediately it settled in.
“Several months, if not a year later, and my heart had not stopped aching for the other I had seen. So I made another call. Yes, it was still available and it came to live here too. Every day – in fact multiple times a day, my eyes drink in the two. They were moved across different walls and then they settled. Rather than hang - each rests on a table unframed, one either side of a window, bringing a sense of calm and depth to my living room every single day, every single evening.
